Oh Jen...don't be mad at me because of the t-shirts...you just blame that on Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dean. What team are they for anyway...a basketball team?? If so...my kids would be in DUKE t-shirts!!!

Now...(that I've settled Jen down) I can tell you about our day. Eli is on track break..so, he's out of school for 2 weeks! (oh..my poor ears...that boy just talks my head off!) Chris went off to school begrudgingly. The little guys and I went to the park this morning and got to meet up with friends from church and their kiddos....that was SO FUN! (I can't believe how SLOWLY things are getting to normal!) Tonight...Eli had his first t-ball game. Isaac just played in my lap and watched...Chris was a BAD big brother and went to a friends house to hang out.

That's about it...nothing crazy happened today (if you can believe it)...I am POOPED though. Oh...Isaac is getting the worst little bum rash. I can't figure it out...he isn't on any different meds (although he is pooping a lot because of that teething...maybe that's it)...so, it's BUTT PASTE by the big tubs for us!!!

So..tomorrow is April fools day. I haven't reminded Joe. Chris is scared of what he'll do to him this year...so, I'm debating on telling him or not. Last year, Joe changed the clocks in the house and woke him up early. Then, made him eat and get dressed for school. THEN, drove him to school...BUT, pretended the car broke down, and they had to PUSH it to the park. THEN, Joe told him the JOKE!!! But, for being such a sport...Joe took him to Denny's for breakfast! (yeah...that's the kind of crazies that I live with.) They plan these pranks ALL year long!!!
OK...I couldn't take it...I reminded Joe...can't wait to see what they do to each other this year!!!

Well...due to popular demand...the Birthday Pictures are in!!!

Isaac was a bit of a grumpy bug ALL day yesterday! But, he did let us sing to him, he wouldn't lick the icing on his cupcake, and wanted out of his high chair promptly! I've tried everyday to take him off of his O2..but, he's still hanging out in the high 80's (and his lungs are clear)...I can't figure him out.

Thank you to EVERYONE who wished Isaac a great birthday!!!
Enjoy the pictures (I'll try to put them in the correct order).

Thanks for the shirt Samantha...we love it!~
He likes his thumb now...
oh....we get a smile WITH crazy eyes!
yeah...he's looking straight ahead at me...CRAZY!
Happy Birthday Isaac! Notice that everyone has Yo Gabba Gabba
t-shirts on!
Can you tell the "grump" on his face!
His loot and cupcakes! (Tasha made us the yummy
chocolate ones!--from scratch!)
That's Muno from Yo gabba gabba!
This was his attire on Friday...thanks Megan!
Isaac just wants to get out...and Eli took his Muno!
PLEASE.....just let me out!
Joe is Robi from Yo gabba gabba!
Eli is Muno!
I'm finished here!
Here are all the shirts that I made for Isaac!
The boys with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dean.
Isaac's new Jumparoo...notice the feet...not on the floor!
All his Yo Gabba Gabba characters...thanks MOM and Mandy!
Don't pay attention to mom and her no make-up, no fixed
hair...just wanted you to see my Foofa shirt!

We had a good time with Mr. Isaac! He doesn't really want to play with his new Yo Gabba Gabba characters....so, Eli is taking care of them for him! (What a good brother!)
We're just resting today...it was a LONG week and weekend! (I have over 30 boxes of cereal...I NEED MORE!!!) only 2 more days of the sale!!!

Shhhhh....don't tell Isaac...but, some of his birthday presents
have started to arrive!!
Eli lost another tooth yesterday...
Now he looks like his favorite Yo Gabba Gabba character, Muno!
and now Isaac is asleep.
such a sweetie pie!

Where to start??? Isaac started our day off with throwing up and that didn't stop until the afternoon when I stopped giving him milk and gave him pedialyte. Who knows...maybe it's because he's teething...maybe he's coming down with something new...he just likes messing with me.

I took Eli to school...and then..I needed to get some things from Target. Now...I get to Target and put Isaac in the stroller and his O2 in the basket underneath the stroller. I go inside the store and just stand there. I need THINGS...not one or two...but, aLOT of things. How in the world am I going to be able to push a stroller and pull a shopping cart. I decided that THIS IS HOW IT IS FOR US...and that's how we'll have to get through our shopping trips from now on. So...that's what we did. Isaac had his little feet propped up on the stoller while I pushed him and I pulled the shopping cart and we made it through the entire store and got ALL of the things that we needed.
I'm a big girl now!!!

After we picked up Eli from school..we had an appointment with Dr. Kogut (the surgeon that did his g-tube surgery). She said that he looked great and we didn't need to see her for 3 months!!! WHOO HOOO!!! oh...and Isaac weighs 17 pds 3 ozs. (He seems to just hover at 17...not really moving away from that number.)

THEN...we pick up Chris from school and go to Vons. They are having a sale on cereal (4 for $4)...so, I NEED to stock up (not as good as your deal Kamaile!). We get in there...and Chris finds a coupon on the aisle for an additional 0.75 off every 2 boxes....so...with both coupons...the boxes are only 0.63 a piece....not bad! I'll be there everyday filling up my food storage!

And now...It's almost 10:00 and my hubby is just walking through the door! Oh....how hard he works for us. I did cook him dinner tonight for a reward! (Don't worry...he didn't have a heart attack at the shock of seeing dinner for him!) The big boys went to bed a little early and Isaac took his last feed of milk ok (no throwing up)...so, maybe we'll have a good night!

Tomorrow, it's RSVshots in the morning, picking up Joe's parents from the airport, and basketball practice in the afternoon.....

****We had our cardiology visit!!! And guess what....his valve is leaking the same amount. So...what that means is (1)although there is a leak...it isn't any BIGGER, (2)with this leak...it's rated a 5.1 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being ready for surgery)...he can leak like this for YEARS!!! WHAT?!?!? Yep...you heard right. If this leak just stays the same...he can hang onto this valve for a few years!!! YES! BUT...we also need to be certain that the pressure in his right ventricle is not TOO high (which is one of the problems that almost put us in the hospital back in January). SO...they are scheduling us for a cath to make sure the pressures are good and to clear us for cleft palate surgery in June. Dr. Mayman was a little concerned that Isaac is still on O2...but, the cath should help rule out any cardiac issues and place all the blame on his lungs. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!!! I've been preparing for TWO surgeries this summer...and looks like it just might be one on the mouth! They're trying to get us in for the cath in the next few weeks! I'll keep you posted on that one.

Chris turned in his African project today...I hope he gets a good grade...Joe and I worked hard on that thing! (I mean...Chris worked hard on it!)

Now...what you've all been waiting for...a funny story to make you laugh out loud and make your hubby's give you this look!!
It all started when we moved into this house 3 years ago. The master bathroom is connected to the master bedroom by only an archway (NO door). So, you can sit in the big tub and watch the television in the bedroom. Joe and I discovered this immediately...it was only recently that our boys caught on. So...now they ONLY want to take baths in OUR bathroom. And...really...that's fine (as long as they pick up their clothes!) Well, last week while we were at Mandy's house...the boys wanted to take a bath in her master bathroom because they like the big tubs. But, you can't see the tv in her room from her tub....so, brilliant ME brought in the portable dvd player and sat it on the sink and just let them relax in the tub while watching their movie. (spoiled or what!) Now...we're home. Two days ago I am calling for Eli to come downstairs for dinner and he isn't answering...so, I go up. He's in the bathroom with the door locked. I bang on the door and he opens it. He's in there watching the Simpsons! I said, "Eli...what are you doing??"
He said, "mom..Chris is playing the PS3 and I wanted to watch my movie."
I said, "Eli...you have a tv in your room...and Chris has ANOTHER tv in his room that you can watch your movie on. WHY is this dvd player in the bathroom?? AND why are you just standing here watching it??"
I got nothing but a blank stare. So...I told him to turn it off and come downstairs for dinner. (Can you believe that he took the player from the suitcase and put it in their bathroom!?)
Yesterday morning I was calling (ok...yelling) for Eli to come downstairs or we were going to be late for school. He had been upstairs for 15 minutes brushing his teeth. I keep yelling and finally I go up the stairs (which I HATE to do when it isn't necessary)....and he's in the bathroom watching a movie AGAIN!
"ELI....that's it!!!"...I say ever so sweetly! Then, I take the movie OUT of the player and put it on a shelf and we head out the door for school.
THEN, this morning...I'm calling again for Eli to come downstairs. After the second call and no answer from Eli...I start stomping up the stairs...because if he's watching that dvd player again in that bathroom...I'm going to throw it out the window! So...I get to the bathroom door...(prepare myself) and I open it! He's standing there, in just a shirt (nothing else), brushing his teeth....WATCHING A MOVIE!
"ELI...WHAT are you doing?!?!" I'm yelling again!
"Well, I had to go to the bathroom and YOU told me to brush my teeth...but, I didn't have time to put my underwear and shorts back on and this is my favorite part...and...."
I had to walk out of the room...to save the dvd player and because I was laughing SO hard I could hardly stand it. But, I had to put on a brave face and go back in and remove the dvd player once and for all from their bathroom.
Poor kids. I don't know what they'll do now. I guess..revert back to my bathroom (which is just punishing me)...but, I can't have Eli sitting on the toilet, brushing his teeth, and watching a movie....can I???

That's about it. I suppose I'll cook dinner. Oh...did I tell you that the plastic surgeon in Stanford wants me to take away Isaac's pacifier (because he can't have it after surgery). I'm not doing it yet...I'm waiting for the heart cath and the final OK....then, I'm not sure how we'll do it. He has that thing in his mouth day and night! (oh..and FYI...Dr. Mayman said that he was glad that we were going to Stanford for the cleft repair. He told me that he didn't want to tell me...but, that was his preference all along. SO SWEET.)

Oh...what a crazy world! I hope everyone has a good week! Oh...and Emma's surgery is this Friday (28th)...start the prayers up for her again...and Emma....don't reschedule this time!!!

The glasses are in!!!
He's smiling at the tv....not me!

oops.....

It's ok...I'll just eat them!

hhhmmmmm.....

He doesn't like these one bit!!! But...they are cute!!

Notice the O2.....we kept it off ALL day! He started to wretch twice...but, I just put the O2 near him...and it stopped! I've put it on while he sleeps though....

Tomorrow we see Dr. Mayman (card). YEAH!!! I will let you know if the leaking is bigger and if we're cleared for cleft palate repair in June! I can't wait!

It's past my bedtime...so, I'll tell you many things tomorrow!!!

We had a scrimmage t-ball game this morning...
Eli had a blast and played HARD!!!
Isaac slept through most of the game...then, decided to wake
up and check out the last part of the game! (He doesn't like the
sun or wind though...so, he was not a happy camper!)

That's about how our day went. Dragging ourselves out of bed this morning....going to t-ball....making a trip to Target...and back home. Then....Chris reminded us that he has a PROJECT on Africa due on MONDAY!!! ooops...I forgot that one! So, Joe dropped me and Isaac off at home...and he took the boys to Target and the bookstore to get supplies for the project. (we're all working on it now...well...Joe is working on it now!) MaryKay made us a tasty dinner and brownies!!! And that's about it...we're just watching a little television and relaxing. Isaac's had a really good day. No wretching...his O2 is still low (so, we're still have the canula up the nose)...but, we're working very hard everyday trying to hold our head up and sit up....he'll get it one day! He is rolling like a champ now!!
I should go now and help poor Joe...
OH...and I should tell you that I got sun BURNED today!!! My face and arms are bright red...I'll look like a red egg tomorrow at church!~

WE MADE IT HOME!!!
Thanks to my sister Mandy for helping us get through the airport and back to the tranquility of Las Vegas (that doesn't even sound right...does it??)!!! Can you tell by the pic that we had a blast?!?? I LOVED playing with my red-headed princess and it was fun watching Seth and my older boys play together. I have no really crazy stories for today...but, I can tell you that our flight home was completely BOOKED (actually overbooked)...so, Isaac had to sit on my lap. But, the sweet baby that he is....he slept the entire time....while Chris and Isaac watched the Simpsons.
Isaac is pooped...he's been sleeping ever since we got home. (and I AM NOT complaining!) Eli is hanging on...but, he keeps putting his thumb in his mouth...which means that sleep is coming SOON! And Chris...he had an activity tonight at church. I thought it started at 5, but Joe told me 4:00. So, I take him...and there are only 2 cars in the parking lot....so, we run to the drug store (for Isaac) and go back at 4:30. Now, there are 2 different cars there...but, only 2 cars. So...we run home (because Chris put on his suit, dress shoes...and left his white addidas socks on!)...DORK! So, he changes socks and head back to the church (which is now 5:00). The same two cars are there...and no one is inside. So...we give up!!! Chris looked at me and said, "Well, maybe I'll still get blessings for trying to get there on time!" What a sweetie!!! FOR SURE he'll have a great week I told him...SO...he's upstairs hooked up to the video games....where he will remain until his fingers ache and his eyes start to blur!~!!
And JOE....he's still at work. I almost cried when we landed in Las Vegas. EVERY single time that we fly into Vegas...he's always there to meet us and surprise us. BUT not anymore (with this job at least!)....it just wasn't the same. He always hides in the baggage claim area and the kids have to find him. But...he's working hard for us...keeping us fat and happy...in a house, with insurance...and cars to drive....I can't complain can I??? (or can I??)
We're ALL glad to be back!!!
We hope everyone has a HAPPY EASTER and all the heart babies behave this week please....I need a break! HUGS to everyone!!!

It's Wednesday, 4:00pm...and we're all ALIVE!!!

We made it! barely....but, we made it!

It all started when we drove to the airport (which is only 5 minutes from our house)...the long term lot is FULL...and it says you have to park across from the airport in overflow parking!!(Now...I wasn't sure if that was even possible, because then I'd have to take a shuttle...with a stroller, three suitcases, and a rolling oxygen concentrator. (I'm still not sure why the airport was packed on a Tuesday mid-day?!?!) So...thank goodness Joe always valets his car...and so I know right where to go. I looked like a complete idiot valeting my dirty old mini van...but, it was better than trying to catch a shuttle with all my junk!

Now...we're in the airport (I wish I had pics to show you....but, I'll try to explain it)...you better pee first...you might laugh so hard you pee in your pants!!!
I'm pushing Isaac in his stroller, carrying his baby bag, and pulling the oxygen concentrator (which is the size of a small briefcase on wheels). Chris is pulling a BIG carry on...and a small one that I attached to the big one. Eli is pulling his small suitcase that has their toys and snacks for the plane. We get to security and I'm thrilled because there's a handicap lane. WELL...the airport is SO packed...that they let other people get in the line. (which means I will be holding up regular people...not just those that hold up people like me!). Then, the security gal tells me that I have to take Isaac out of his infant seat, put the seat on the belt, fold the stroller and put it on the belt, and then carry him through the security metal thing. Then, we have to go back through with the oxygen thing...which makes the metal detector go off....SO NOW...Chris and Eli are at the end of security and they make me take Isaac and the oxygen to the other lane to be checked. I'm looking through the glass at poor Chris...and he's trying to get the carseat off the belt, the stroller, the babybag, laptop, 3 pairs of shoes...and Eli's trying to get his carry on suitcase off the belt! FINALLY..someone steps in to help Chris (because you KNOW that he doesn't know how to even open up the stroller). They check Isaac and myself for explosive material, check the O2 machine...and then we're free to go! (unbelievable!)
NOW...we get to our gate, get some pizza, and go to the bathroom before we board.
THEN....we board the plane. The big boys go ahead of me....I'm carrying Isaac in his infant carrier, carrying the over-stuffed baby bag, and pulling the O2 machine (just a site to see!) I sit in one row (window and middle) and Chris and Eli sit behind me (Chris doesn't want to sit by himself because he hates flying). So...the place starts taking off...and I have to put my hand between the seats behind me so that Chris can GRAB it with BOTH hands (sweating profusely at this point I might add)...until we reach cruising altitude and he can let go of my hand!
Isaac stays awake the WHOLE time...but, I put his headphones on and he watches Yo Gabba Gabba. Eli and Chris watch the Simpsons on the psp...until Eli decides that he wants to watch a Thomas the train movie on my laptop. Chris pulls the laptop out...and I left it on and now the battery is dead! Eli was almost in tears! Thank goodness we were ready to land at this point!!! AND there...like a Christmas miracle...was MANDY...there to rescue me and help me!!!
Long story short...we make it to Mandy's house...order in pizza, eat...then, Isaac and I are off for the 2 hour drive to Stanford!
Where yet another story is about to happen....
I go in to check in. Isaac is asleep...so, I just take the carrier in (and unhook him from the O2...he won't die without for a little while). She tells me that she indeed found me a room on the first floor...but, the parking lot is full, so...I'll have to park around back and WALK up a flight of stairs. I told her that was the WHOLE purpose that I requested a ground floor room...I have a baby in a stroller and on O2!!! (HELLO...does anyone hear me?!?!) The lady told me to just put Isaac in the room and then take the car around back and park (she IS crazy!!) So, I just pull up behind the cars in front of our room...and unload our suitcases, babybag, and even the O2. Then, I drive around back and put Isaac in the stroller and push him UP the driveway, down the sidewalk, and back around to our room (at 10:00 at night!) I tell you what...I fell asleep SO fast. I put Isaac in one bed (surrounded by pillows) and I had my OWN bed (heavenly!). Then, something went terribly wrong! Isaac woke up at 3am and would NOT go back to sleep! So, at 5am, after starting up his feeds...I patted his bum until he finally gave in! THEN....the clock woke us up at 7am to get it together to be at our appt at 8:30...which we barely made!

Now...for the appointment! And Vanessa (and anyone else who doesn't understand why I travel for a simple cleft surgery). Well...first of all...just because of Isaac's heart and how hard he recovers from anesthesia...I'd rather him be at Stanford where the anesthesiologists know him and Dr. Hanley is there if something heart-related happens. SECOND....the ONLY children's hospital in Las Vegas is fine...but, it took them 2 weeks when Isaac was born to even notice that he had a cleft palate and that's why he couldn't drink from a bottle. SO...if that's how attentive they are...I need my delicate flower at the best place that can take the best possible care of him. (I don't know...it could be overkill...I'm 95% sure that everything would be ok if the surgery was done in Las Vegas...but, I just don't want to take any unnecessary risks on such a minor surgery.) Call me crazy!!!
I met the plastic surgeon that would do the repair. He was awesome! 100% glad we made the trip. They have you see a whole craniofacial team (which LV doesn't have)...so, we also saw speech (who gave me new ideas), ENT (who saw that fluid was still pooling in his ears...so, he'll need tubes in his ears while he's under for the cleft repair), he took a hearing test (which showed that one ear doesn't hear too hot...so, we'll have another test done in 3 months)....I think that's all we saw. It was just good to be evaluated from all the specialists at one place (even though it took 4 hours!) We actually went ahead and scheduled the cleft palate and ear tube surgery for June 18th!! In hopes that he'll be recovered well before his heart surgery at the end of the summer. BUT first...we have to be cleared for this surgery by cardiology. So, next week when we see Dr. Mayman...he has to fax a copy of the echo report to Stanford and they'll conference with the cards there...and together they'll all decide if his heart is healthy enough for the surgery. If it isn't...then, he'll have to wait until he's recovered from the heart surgery...which would be middle of RSV season and close to his 2nd birthday.
We'll see!!!

So now...I'm at Mandy's house...watching her make goodies and chase her red-headed 18 month old around!!! NOW...we rest!!

Andrea...I'm babysitting for my sister tomorrow night so that her and her hubby can go out on their anniversary...but, email me your phone number and I'll see if I can squeeze in a visit with you!!!

Megan..I'm off to check on you now...I hope Eli's doing good today and the cath went great!!!

Thanks for checking on us...we did it...we did it!!!!
I feel like a big girl now!!!

Look at how strong I am...
Still holding those feet up!
One of my new hats...and one foot now!
Really....could he get any cuter!?
Just checkin' to make sure all my toes are there!
Can you SEE my toes!?
He's getting mad at me...he's trying to watch tv!
Look at this cute shirt Megan (Eli's mom) sent us!!!
I LOVE IT MEGAN...it's perfect!!!!
just perfect...

We made it to church today...and it was SO WONDERFUL!!! Joe's song was just beautiful...he made me cry! We were able to take our friend and neighbor MaryKay with us and Tim and Tasha (and their cutie pies) were able to go...it just couldn't have been a better day. Thanks for going guys!

My memory is fading fast...everyday I forget to tell you 10 things that happened!
Let's see....I fed the bed this morning. Isaac's entire feed (6.5 ozs) went all over his crib. And he doesn't cry (even though he's soaking wet)...he's just playing in his crib singing...ahhh.ahhh.ahhh. It wasn't my fault...there are two ports on his g-tube extension. One port is for the feeding tube. The other port is smaller and for meds. WELL...he wiggles SO much now...that he opened the medicine port and all of his milk came out!!!
So...after I get that cleaned up...give him a bath...feed him again...and get him dressed...I GET dressed for church and get the boys dressed. THEN, Joe gets up and gets himself dressed (something's wrong with that picture isn't it...can you figure it out??)
And...as I told you....church was PERFECT! Such great speakers...music...and just a spirit filled day...gives you a wonderful HIGH for the week!

Eli. Eli has been burying his toys in the back yard. Well...he tells me that he isn't burying them...He's putting them on the dirt and THEN putting dirt on top of them. He isn't putting them under the ground~! (technicalities)

Chris. Chris was going to leave for church today WITHOUT brushing his teeth or deodorizing his armpits. JUST because he can't smell it...he thinks NO ONE else will smell it! (oh...I have my work cut out for me with this little man!) He's still doing great in school...so, I really can't complain~!

Joe. Joe is coming down with something...he took some sudafed and it knocked him out at 7:30 (yes...sudafed...the non-drowsy kind!) He's up in bed already...poor thing!

Isaac. WHOoooo...Isaac is going GREAT...(knocking on wood!). He's tolerating his feeds well..so, I started adding the MCT oil again (2cc's before each feed...for extra calories). I weighed him today...and he was down to 16.9 (which is down 1 pound!). URRGHHH....so, my goal is to put some chunk back on my little guy! We have a BUSY week! We fly to Sacramento on Tuesday. We will stay with my sister Mandy. On Wednesday...we meet with the Craniofacial team at Stanford to consult about Isaac's cleft palate repair. We need to know what type of surgery he needs, when he needs it (before or after this next heart surgery) and when we can schedule it. (They can do the surgery here in Vegas...but, I just feel more comfortable having it at Stanford in case there's a problem while he's under...that hospital knows him best!) Luckily...the big boys are on spring break...so, I'm taking CHRIS, ELI, Isaac...and an oxygen concentrator, feeding pump, pulse ox, nebulizer, meds, bottles, diapers, wipes, portable tv, and Yo Gabba Gabba dvd by MYSELF to the AIRPORT to make this trip. (I'm not scared!) The appointment on Wednesday should only last half the day....and then we'll get to spend the rest of the time with Mandy and her kiddos! We fly back home on Friday afternoon where Chris will meet up at church for an activity and our sweet neighbor is bringing us dinner! Isn't that a crazy long week!?!?
So...if I don't post a ton this week...that's why!!!
I think I've told you everything (I can remember...at least!)
**A heart baby update...Gracie is doing awesome...there's talk of a discharge tomorrow. Colin...he isn't doing very well and could use some extra prayers. Emma...haven't gotten her next surgery date...she's toying with us! Elijah....he goes in for a cath on Wednesday...start the prayers up for him.

whooo...that's why my mind is fading...I've got too many babies on my mind! BABIES behave....let my mind rest!!!

do you want to see my tongue??
yep...the eyes are crazy...where are my glasses??

We ran errands today...Isaac was a champ (as always!).  Eli tripped THREE different times...his feet just can't go in the direction where his brain wants them to go.  (poor guy!)

Joe sings at church tomorrow...I can't wait!!! (I wish I could record it for you all to hear...he makes me cry everytime!)

We're watching a movie now...so, I'll update tomorrow...just thought you'd like a picture fix!!!
