It' almost midnight...and i already have 2 hours of sleep under my belt!! Isaac is only taking Tylenol at the moment. He just finished a 45cc bottle .... all by mouth. YEAH for Isaac!!! The real reason for this post is to let you know that after Isaac eats...we leave his g-tube open to "vent" (to let the air out of his tummy--he can't burp now)... Well, the tube let out a man sized burp...and FREAKED me out!!! I didn't know who was in here making those sounds! Just thought I'd humor you...it's too funny!! Good night....

I can't believe it's Friday...we've been here for 8 days!!! (that means that Isaac is 3 months old...and has spent 1/3 of his life in a hospital...ohhhhhh). What I thought was going to be a great day...turned CRAZY on us. The day nurse came in about 8am and checked Isaac's IV...and it was getting clogged and his foot was swollen and hard. Now...Isaac has blown 3 IV sites now...and has NO good veins left to try. The head nurse that was able to get the last iv in came and gave it a try....three pokes later...NOTHING!!! We had to get the IV in because he needed a blood transfusion and fluids until he eats full feeds.... That meant that the doctor had to come in.....oh wait...Before that, a transport nurse tried to even get the iv in his head!!! That didn't work...so now in comes the doctor...and she gets it in his neck!!! MY POOR BABY!!! I'm at home now...showered up and loading photos...When I left, Isaac was sleeping. I just talked to Joe and he was able to feed Isaac 1 ounce of milk with a bottle and he did great!!! (he screamed because he wanted more...that's our baby!) That's all I know for now...I'll keep you posted!

I LOVED our night nurse and this g-tube!!! Isaac tolerated all of his feeds last night....so, maybe they will increase the volume today. We gave him a sponge bath about 3am. Aside from that....I got a lot of sleep!!! (considering it's hospital sleep). The nurse could just sneak in, change his diaper, and put his food in the tube.....and he would just keep snoozing!!! The only concern I have is that his sats did start dipping last night. He is not on oxygen, and they don't stay in the 60's very long.....but, they are dipping for a few seconds. Right now he is sound asleep hugging his turtle....soooo cute!

It's 10pm, and Isaac has had 2 feeds of 10cc's.....and has tolerated them both very well. He is making alot of saliva, so they use a suction (similar to that at the dentist office)....and he loves it. He even sticks out his tongue so that you can suction it....and he smiles SO big.....it's the cutest thing. I just ordered some morphine for him....he's getting a litte fussy. Overall, we have had a great day!

Joe will NEVER volunteer to spend the night at the hospital again!! They didn't get him off the ventilator until midnight. They had to draw blood at 2am....and had to eventually get the doctor to draw it. So....both my guys had a rough night! It's 3pm....and I don't have any new news. They are going to try to feed him through the tube later today. I hope that goes without any problems! Joe is home now....trying to get a nap before he comes back up here tonight.

I'm home and sweet Joe is taking the night-shift at the hospital so that I can get some rest. (Now...he should have it easy because Isaac is on Morphine for the next 24 hours...hopefully, he'll sleep the night away!)

I set these pictures to happier music....I don't mean to make you sad! Isaac is doing remarkably well...and we can't wait to bring him home. I am SO pleasantly surprised at how well his g-tube looks and his scars from the fundoplication. It's nice to know that he'll only need tylenol for minimal discomfort tomorrow! I can't wait to take our first class in "Learning how to feed through the tube without getting grossed out or making a mess!"....I will definately take notes!!! I've already told Chris and Eli that they're going to learn how to also! (That would make a cute family picture!)

I hope we all have a good night sleep...Joe, Isaac, and myself (of course)....I see nothing but good things happening tomorrow!

These are the pictures from yesterday and today after his surgery. He's still on the venilator...don't worry...they're just letting his little heart rest..they are waiting for him to wake up on his own!

It's 7am and Isaac is sound asleep. I know what you're thinking...how did you get him to sleep?? Well, it seems that if an iv site clots off and you hook up the pump with fluids...it hurts, thus causing you to scream until you make every alarm sound and three nurses run into the room. Luckily....they see slight swelling in the hand, they pull the iv out....and now you just have a puffy right hand. But, that can't be all there is to this story....because, now they must insert another iv because you have surgery today. Maybe they could put the iv in while you are under anesthesia.....but, no...they need the iv to put you to sleep. So, here we sit....(or sleeping in Isaac's case)...waiting for a good nurse to come and torture him once again....and it's after 7am....so, once the torture is over, he can't be comforted with a bottle.....because he has to STARVE before surgery.... Oh, I do hope this is not how our day will go.....I hope we're surrounded by more sweet and observant nurses that keep their eyes on my angel! (I'm sure the day will go good....I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and was just planing on a quiet, uneventful morning.......like that could ever happen!)

Don't worry...we met the surgeon....she answered all of our questions and seems great. and mom.....she's done hundreds of these!

It's noon on Tuesday....isaac is swinging and I am waiting for the attending to make her rounds. Joe was able to come last night after work and let me run home to change and shower. He was able to talk to the attending and our cardiologist. All are in agreement that we need to fix this reflux issues and then see how it affects his sat levels. We could go through the stomach surgery and it stop the reflux and make his sats a little higher.....or, it could stop the reflux, and his sats could still be low....which would mean that he needed heart surgery sooner. Someone, please look into your crystal ball and tell me which problem needs to be fixed first...the heart or the reflux!!!! Joe loved his visitors last night and isaac was able to get a blessing....(that's probaly why we had a good night). Isaac is starting to drink his 2-3 oz bottles now....not as frequently as they'd like, but.....if we're going to put a tube in his belly this week anyway...why stress him out! His little foot is pink today...YIPPIE....and he's smiling alot today. (Maybe some of these new drugs are helping). I could just snuggle up in bed with him and watch tv all day!!!! I am hoping the attending will be by soon and the surgeon....once I have spoken to both, I will update again. Overall....we're having a good day.

It's 5pm and Isaac finally fell asleep. We had the swallow study and the upper GI. Of course he screamed....but, he survived! (with barium on only one side of his head). I do not have the results of those tests yet. I talked with Dr. mayman (the cardiologist) and he sent isaac's file up to Stanford today...maybe we'll hear back in a week. We had to increase the amount of oxygen that he's on because his sats keep getting lower. I ate a chicken pot pie today--amazing what you'll do when you are starving! His right foot is still bright white. He smiled some today....that made al the screaming worth it. That's all I know for now...

Here's a morning update for you: Isaac had a really good night. He slept 4-5 hours between feedings and didn't have any bad episodes.....I don't think he made the monitors go off once......until....they came to draw labs at 2am. They tried his arm, his wrist, and then finally did a finger prick. They didn't get enough, so they had to draw again this morning (but, the gal on days is the best...so, I let her in the room). He hasn't eatten since 2:30 because we have the swallow study schecheduled at 8am...which means that he has had some lovely screaming fits were he makes all the monitors go off!! He's finally tired and sleeping. We are going to try a reflux formula after the swallow test....maybe the new meds and the formula will do the trick and we will not need the surgery.....my fingers are crossed and my prayers have been said! I'll post an update later today after the tests...and once hems asleep. Oh....and the boys are off to Aunt Christy's house today, where they will stay for the week! Thanks for taking them Christy!

We had a much better night last night. Isaac did not eat...therefore, there was no reflux. His fever has dropped, but his heartrate is increasing too high more frequently. It's noon, and he's had two bottles....and the reflux has returned. He just screamed himself to sleep in my arms....so sad. The doc last night said that the rolling of his eyes (when he couldn't control them) was how much pain that he was in. The cardiologist came by this morning....didn't seem concerned about his fast heart rate. The GI doc came and talked to me about the stomach surgery. They just came in and did a chest xray to make sure none of this is getting in his lungs. They are adding an additional reflux drug to his mix to try and settle him......ok, It's now 5pm, and Joe's at the hospital and I came home to take a nap. But, the xrays did come back and show clear lungs. Isaac was asleep when i left Joe, but when i just called, he said that Isaac was having the bad episodes again....it will be another LONG night and surgery will now most likely be scheduled. I'm off to the hospital.....I will post again when I have new news or a free moment...

It's saturday night...sorry for not updating all day. We had a horrible night. Isaac was not eating good, and when he would finally take a bottle, his reflux was getting so bad that he would lose all that he just ate. Then, he would have heart episodes where his rate would go from the 140s to 225 while he was dead asleep. Then, he had two episodes where his eyes looked to the upper right corner and he couldn't move them and focus on anything. Then...(now we're still talking about night problems)...he had a temp of 103!!! I felt so bad for my little man. Needless to say, we spent our day with a very fussy man. He had blood draws. I talked with the GI doc...and we put Isaac on Prevacid...but, he told me if this doesn't help...it's the fundoplication surgery (stomach wrap) and g tube surgery. We aren't scheduled to have his swallow study done now until Monday. Thanks to the help of a super friend Terri...we were able to get Isaac moved to the peds ICU (they will monitor him better here). It's been an exhausting day and I hope Isaac can sleep tonight. We are holding his feeds tonight to give his little belly a break and he is being put on oxygen. I'll post again tomorrow...and will try not to wait so long again!

OK all you die-hard Isaac followers....It's now Friday night in fabulous Las Vegas! Joe is exhausted and is heading home to put the boys to bed and try to get some sleep. Isaac is confined to his bed until midnight....so it's a good thing that he's on pain meds that have knocked him out...because we can't feed him lying down (remember...it comes out the nose if he isn't sitting straight up). His heart rate looks good and his sats are only dipping here and there. I hope he can stay sleeping until midnight! The heart cath went good, I can't type all the details on my cell phone...but, the pulmonary artery is growing good on one side, but not the other. The stent is working and isn't constricted. We can confirm that this is not our favorite hospital and will drive to Stanford if another heart cath is needed. I know that you all want to see pictures..but, posting from my cell is all I can give you right now. I am taking pics, so when I go home, I will upload them all. Thanks for following our butterball...and if you have the permission to view this blog, then we must like you....so thanks for all your support and we love you all!

Isaac made it through the heart cath. They did not find any problems with his stent...so, we still do not know why his sats are getting low. We're headed up to the PICU now....I'll keep you posted. (oh...he is already off the ventilator...WHOOO...)

Little Isaac got wheeled to the cath lab at 330. The nurses taking care of him remember him from when he was born and his first heart cath. Our little angel could not be in better hands....i hope the recovery nurses are just as good. The GI test and swallow test scheduled for this morning got postponed....maybe they'll try to work on that tomorrow. It certaintly appears that we will be here all weekend....let's just hope that they find the reason for the low sats. Chris and Eli are at home...so, would everyone call and talk to them....Eli lost his second tooth on Wednesday and I haven't been home to post a picture for him....he is soooo proud!!!

It's 11am and the cardiologist just did an echo. They decided to do the heart cath today at 330. That takes 5-6 hours and he will be put on a ventilator. I will post again tonight after he comes off the vent. I had to help hold him down to get the iv...so sad....i don't know if i'll be ready for heart surgery.

It's 6 am....and no one sleeps at this hospital! Joe came back last night and brought Isaac's swing. What a sweetie! By 10:30, I had isaac asleep in the cradle. At midnight, the nurse came to check isaac's temp. So, of course, by 12:30, Isaac had one 1 of those bad reflux episodes where it comes out of his nose and chokes him. After changing him...I was able to get him back to sleep in the swing. We were awake again at 3am to feed....and more blood was drawn at 5am. What a long night. I'll post again once I have lab results and any new news!

It's 9pm and Joe just left the hospital with Sto and Eli. Joe was sooo sweet to bring me supplies to stay overnight and get food for the boys. They drew a TON of blood from isaac.....I hope he doesn't need a transfusion now! He screamed so hard that he is fast asleep...in the crib....yes, the crib, not a swing! They think another upper GI will be scheduled in the morning....which means that isaac has to skip a feed before they do it....OH, will he be Mad!!!

While I have access to the blog I just wanted to let Kathy and Joe know how proud everyone is the both of you. You both are great parents and all three boys are very lucky to have the both of you. You two have been through so much and are doing a great job with everything that you are having to face. Take care and we all love you.

It looks like we're spending the night at the hospital. I'll keep the blog posted with what tests they run and what the results are. They aren't going to do his echo until tomorrow morning and the GI doc hasn't been around yet to tell me what tests that he is going to order. He's snoozing in my arms...making all the monitors ding...but snoozing! That's my butterball.

It is lunch time on Thursday...and we had to bring Master Isaac to the hospital. His sats are getting into the 60s....and his reflux is back and causing him to choke. He is hooked up to the monitors now, but no tests have been run yet...which means this is probably an overnighter! His sats have gotten as low as 61 and then jump as high as 92....they have to find out if this is a heart problem or chronic reflux, which can cause him to aspirate into his lungs...which, then would be cause for a feeding tube. Boy am I glad he slept good last night. I am posting thus from my phone....so, keep checking for updates if you haven't gotten a call from us.

What a night we had last night!!! Isaac slept...but, he was very restless. He sleeps right beside me in a swing...and every breath he takes...I can hear it. Last night, he was making so many crazy noises in his dreams and was choking (the reflux was BACK!!)...I'm not sure how that happened, I haven't missed a dose of medicine! I had to get out of bed and actually get dressed by 8am (if Joe was here..he'd be so proud!). Mark, our friend and speech therapist (feeding specialist) was coming over to check on Isaac since the introduction to oxygen during our feedings. When Mark arrived....he said, "Kathy..his lips are blue!". Really??? I think I'm just use to his blueberry head! We checked his sats and they were 68...so, we hooked up the oxygen and got them back into the 70s. Mark was here to watch Isaac's feeding...and boy was I glad...at his 6am feeding, I could only get him to drink 1oz. Well, wouldn't you know that I have another actor on my hands!!! Isaac drank 3ozs with no problems while Mark was here...and his sats even went into the low 80s!!! What a STINKER! But, Mark did notice how blue the bags got under Isaac's eyes and how heavy his breathing became after the feeding...he's going to call a report into the cardiologist (just so one more person...other than an over-protective mom says the same thing). He said he doesn't think Isaac will make it to August without surgery (not that he's a doc...just because he works with so many heart babies). Until we get Isaac's heart fixed...he's not going to grow properly...he's just getting enough nutrition to keep him alive (a grower and feeder is what they call him). I'm prepared for the wild boy he'll become with a SUPER-DUPER new heart....and I'm ready for the challenge!!! Throughout the remainder of our day...Isaac did pretty good. He just doesn't want to sleep in the day time...and i NEED TO TAKE A NAP!!! He wants me to hold him all day long! And I may be crazy..but, I think he sees pretty good now..and starts crying when he can't see me...(Oh...I do NOT want to create a monster like that!). He's snoozing now (in the swing beside the bed) and the other boys have crashed....I'm next!

Little Isaac had another fussy day (that's two in a row...three days will make it a new trend)! He's sleeping longer at night...which is nice during the night...but, he's not getting enough feeds in, so, overall...I need to wake him up! But, when I wake him up...he's too tired to eat...then I just have a grump baby on my hands! I did manage to get a few smiles out of him today! I didn't even try sticking the oxygen canula up his nose today...I just layed the hose beside him during the feedings...and that still bothered him...what a STINKER he is at times! (I'm not sure if that's his personality starting to shine through...or he just feels bad). Dr. Mayman, the cardiologist, called today to check on Isaac. I told him that his sats are in the 60s at every feeding now...and he said that maybe that's ok for him. (MAYBE---ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I'm no doctor...but, that can't be good for a long period of time!). He said that his artery needs ballooning up again (the pulmonary artery) or this may mean that he needs surgery sooner! (YIKES) But, we will should know next Friday when they do the heart cath. (If Isaac gets into the 60s during rest periods....we'll have to take him to the hospital and they may have to do the heart cath sooner than the 29th!). So, I check Isaac's sats with the new pulse ox...that we tape around his big toe...and he can't stand it! (I can only imagine what a cranky bug he'll be after surgery if he can't stand tape around his foot!). During our days...I'm pretty much making him angry with me by putting oxygen near him and always checking his sats...he only loves me because I'm his milk cow!!! As for the other men in my life...Joe is in California until Wednesday for work. Eli is bugging me for another toy that he didn't get to buy with his money (like he didn't get enough this weekend). Christopher finally unpacked his camping gear and 2 bugs came along...I thought they were scorpions, but Joe said they were just pincher bugs (now...Joe's not here..but, he's trying to tell me what they are...It sounds like I was braver when I caught them if I told you they were scorpions...BIG scorpions!!!) It's getting late for me, and Isaac must be woken up and changed and fed and put in his swing to sleep...(that boy has still never slept in his crib or cradle....I wish I would have saved the boxes!).

Happy Father's Day dad!!! (even though you don't know how to turn on a computer and depend on mom to update you about Isaac....Happy Father's Day again!)...and to Joe...
Even though you had a long week in Reno, didn't sleep all weekend because you were working on Eli's birthday surprise, and you are spending all day Sunday packing and preparing to go out of town Monday morning...we love you and wouldn't trade you for a million BUCKS!!! Isaac was a cranky bug today! He doesn't like the oxygen canula in his nose still...and they didn't give me any tape to keep it in..so, I've started holding the hose up to his nose during feeds. But, even with the oxygen, he's screaming during his feedings. I hope it's just a bad day and not another problem I have to solve!

What a SATURDAY!!! It's mom's birthday...Grandma Judy turned 35 today!!! (that's what she told Eli anyway!)...I hope you had a great birthday mom! Christopher came home tonight!!! He was tan and more handsome than ever!!! I'll get him to start his blog tomorrow and start telling you all his stories! Now...to sweet Isaac. He had a pretty good day. He still doesn't like that oxygen tube in his nose...but, I'm figuring out how to trick him and calm him down faster. We're all starting to get into a schedule and some type of normalcy. I was looking in files yesterday and found Eli's infant records. When Eli was 2 months old, he weighed in at 11.5 pounds...and my little Isaac weighed in at 9lbs at his 2 month check up (and remember, Isaac was born the biggest baby of all!!!)...I've got to put some fat rolls on my little guy! That's why I'm eating so many brownies...in hopes that the extra sugar and fat get into him (ha ha ha...that's just what I tell myself everytime I take a bite!!!). Really...Isaac is doing as good as he gets...and I have no complaints!

Here's an older picture that was just cute...
This will be a short and sweet post! Isaac didn't have a very good day. We did, however, get an oxygen machine for him and portables tanks for when we go out with him. His sats are dipping into the 60s...so, we have orders to put him on the oxygen when he feeds and at other times when he needs it. I just want to hook him up to the pulse ox and watch the numbers all day long!!! (but, that would drive me crazy...and he doesn't like anything on his feet). Tomorrow--I promise to post a pic of him with his handy-dandy oxygen canula up his nose...which he HATES and screams...which makes his sats even lower until he settles down...)It's a never ending battle with this little guy!!! Eli is already in bed (in our room..because he misses Chris) and Joe's in the garage working on the stereo install on the Escalade!

Poor baby Isaac has just been out of sorts today. I'm not sure if it's all the activity in the house or something else. He's on his "EAT EVERY 2 HOUR" schedule today...that can wear you out! Although he's eating every 2 hours and only taking 1.5-2 ounces, he's still eating about the same amount (maybe 2-3 ounces shy of normal). Now that Joe's back in town (he flew in tonight)...we're going to monitor his sats while he's drinking. We've checked it once..and it did go into the 60s again (i'm just not sure how accurate this monitor is). He's taking a cap nap as I type...so, this post will be short...because his naps today are WAY TOO short!! Eli lost his tooth today! Check out his page to see cute pics. Christy and her guys left today and headed back to Utah...I hope they made it...I've been too busy with Isaac to call and check on her!

Happy Birthday to ELI!! I can't believe he's 5!!! He was my baby just a few months ago... Christy was in charge to buy a birthday cake. So..she took the kids and they picked out Power Ranger cupcakes...well, Eli doesn't eat chocolate cupcakes..and she only got 12. Now...Eli's middle name is CUPCAKE MONSTER...together..he and I can tackle a dozen in one day. Needless to say, Christy and her boys polished off the cupcakes today! I'll get Eli a big cake this weekend...and we'll finish it together!!! (I've given up on losing the baby weight...my sweet tooth is more important than a size 2 pair of pants!!!)
As for Isaac...we had some good times today and some bad times today...but, he's such a sweet angel. I checked his sats today..and they're steady in the low 70s. I talked to the nutritionist about Isaac and his slow weight gain. We made a plan to add one teaspoon of formula to his mix of breastmilk and rice cereal...we'll try that for a few days and see how his tummy takes it. She also told me to take his sats while he's feeding..maybe he's getting too low...that's why he's tiring out. I checked..and I got a reading in the low 60s. (which is BAD)...but, i'll try again tomorrow...and if I get the same reading, I'll call the cardiologist. Christy is still here..and I still can't talk about her because she has access to this blog...ha ha ha...she's doing good and the kids are semi-behaving! Eli opened up a few gifts...a few cards...he has no idea what wonderful things he'll get this weekend! (I can't wait!!!). I miss Christopher..i hope he's swimming like a fish, using sunscreen, and not getting into too much trouble! (he's becoming quite a prankster!). ***Check out Eli's blog to the right...I'm going to let him start taking the pics to post and we'll work on video blogs and maybe...one day...he'll do all the typing!

CRAZY DAY!! Let's just start from the beginning... Joe's in Reno this week and Christopher is at camp. I talked to Christy last night and she's headed this way with her boys today! Isaac has his 9am cardio appointment.
Don't cry.....but, Eli was talking to me this morning and said, "Mom, why was Isaac born with a broken heart?"....I thought I was going to CRY!! What a sweet, yet sad thing for your 4 year old son to have to ask. I won't choke you up with my response....but, I sure do love that Eli!
Now..let's talk about that appointment... The nurse checked his sats (oxygen levels) and they were in the 60s!!! (normal is 100...normal for Isaac is low 80s!!!--maybe high 70s)...that FREAKED me out!! So, Dr. Mayman did the echo (the ultrasound of the heart) and saw no problems with the heart. The pulmonary artery had actually grown more (it was measuring 2.8mm--normal child this age is about a 4)...and the stent they placed in the artery was still there with no blockage and blood was flowing through it as it should. The nurse came back in to re-read his oxygen levels..and it was still reading low...so, they sent us to their main office (which is in the HOOD of Las Vegas!!!). We drive straight there--FAST--because, if his sats are indeed in the 60s, I have to go straight to the emergency room! Well, we arrive and they take us back immediately,...and his sats come in at 73-75...whooo! They said that maybe the other meter wasn't working properly ( I HOPE!). So...we drive home. What a stressful way to start your morning off. Now, I get home...and Isaac is still not eating very well. He's drinking an ounce of milk and he's just exhausted. I'm not sure what's going on with him. So, (after some brilliant ideas from my mom), I called the cardiologist back and he ordered a pulse ox for us and a scale (so that I can monitor his oxygen levels and his weight at home)(oh...his weight..he weighed in today at 9lbs 6ozs..that's a 2 oz loss...YIKES)--I checked his ox tonight..and it came in at 75!!! (Dr. Mayman said not to worry unless it got down in the 60s). Now...I can relax....NOT...Christy is here with Kenny and Luke (now..this blog has to be monitored for quality assurance..because, Christy reads it!)... The boys were very well behaved today..(as far as these boys go...nothing was broken or thrown or no one was bleeding or bruised...it was great!). Christy went to the store and got cupcakes for us to have a mini party for Eli tomorrow. And, to top off our day...Christopher called home from camp...Just to sing Happy Birthday to Eli. It was so SWEET. Eli said, "Chris, I cried last night because I missed you"...and Christopher said, "I miss you too Eli, I'll see you on Saturday!". Now...you all know that I love all three of these boys to DEATH and I spoil them rotten..but, you have to admit...I have some sweeties on my hands!!! They make me so happy I decided to be a mom! (It's been an emotionally draining day...my hormones must be out of whack!). The pictures above are of Isaac and his new handy-dandy-pulse ox meter....I'll take a pic with his numbers on it tomorrow!

What a Monday!!! Joe was at work, Chris was at camp...I just had my babies at home today!!! So, we did absolutely NOTHING!!! Isaac was slow at eating today...he would take his bottle...but, he would drink an ounce, need a 15 minute break...take another ounce and take a break. That's how our feeds went all day! (I'm anxious to tell the cardiologist about his new feeding habits). We have an appointment with the cardiologist in the morning...let's hope there's no blockage in the artery...and the stent is holding up! I didn't get any good pics of Isaac today...so, I thought you might like to see how Isaac gets his good looks! (that would be from his big brother Eli...and Eli's cute bath pics!).

Let me start this post off by letting you know that my sweet Joseph has been picking on me for making so many movies instead of posting single pictures. Well, I've just been taking so many GREAT pictures, that I can't imagine not sharing them all with you! As you can tell from the first pictures, our day started off EARLY! Chris went off to camp at 5am. I miss him already...but, then I went upstairs later during the day...and...he better be glad that he's not around to answer for the mess he left! Eli and I went to church this morning while Joe stayed home with Isaac. (you need to know that whoever has Isaac duty...although he is sweet...he is not the easier task to undertake!). Isaac didn't take a single nap for Joe...he looked so relieved to see us finally walk in the door!
Joe spent the afternoon working on our SECRET PROJECT! Eli's getting a powerwheels Escalade for his birthday...and Joe is installing a cd player and speakers in it! (I don't know who's going to be more excited...Eli for his new ride...or Joe for the tunes it can play!). And to finish off the afternoon...and for your enjoyment...I give you Master Isaac actually enjoying a bath today (no screams or tears shed!). I was able to put my guys (including Joe) to bed before 10pm...a job well done!

It just cracks Isaac up when you say "Oh" to him! It's too cute!
It has been one BUSY Saturday! I took Eli and Chris to get haircuts this morning (yes..that means that Chris has short hair!). Then, Joe and I switched and I stayed with Isaac and he took the boys out for the day to get all of Christopher's camping supplies. (They all barely fit in his bag). He's got snorkeling gear, a wet suit, cameras...everything he needs to have a blast! (Eli was upset because he didn't get a wetsuit...poor Eli!). It's getting late...and we're still packing odds and ends and getting the house put back in order. Joe has to take Christopher to church at 5am to meet up with the troop! (I'll still be snoozing...if I'm so lucky!). I'll try to persuade Joe into taking the camera and snapping some pics of Chris and his first week long camping trip away from us....oh..I'm going to CRY!

I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday. When Master Isaac finally fell asleep...I ran up the stairs to get some sleep also! Yesterday and today were long. Isaac was having a tough time with his feeds...which meant he was very cranky all day and night. (Now...he's still cute...but, cranky!). Isaac didn't have any doctor appointments yesterday, but today we took Christopher to get a physical for scout camp! After the physical, we stayed around the house and finally by mid-afternoon, Isaac took a full bottle and a good nap! Christopher spent the afternoon in the pool working on his snorkeling technique and Eli spent the day on the computer--he was working on school work until he found the "toys r us" website...and from then until bedtime he told us everything he NEEDED for his birthday! It's so nice having all the boys home again. I'm not sure what Eli will do next week while Chris is at camp. Tomorrow....poor Joe has to take the boys out for haircuts and to get all the odds and ends needed for camp. We all hope that Isaac eats and sleeps good tonight!

Happy Anniversary to my sweet Joseph! What an awesome husband and dad you are! (That's enough about you...it's kiddo time!)
We met with a pediatrician at the Early Intervention office. She did a complete work-up on Isaac and checked to make sure that we were seeing all the specialists that we needed to. She was extremely nice and knew alot about DiGeorge. She's going to order an EEG for Isaac (when he looks to the side, his eyes shutter). We decided that we're not going to start physical therapy until after the heart surgery. Chris and Eli were ANGELS today..they let me take a small nap today. Overall, we had a great day...I didn't get as much house work done that I wanted and we didn't open the school books...but, tomorrow is another day!

Oh the Tuesday we have had!!! First, let me tell you that it's a different house when there are 3 boys versus 1 boy. I love them all...but, boy did they run me ragged today!!! Isaac had an appointment with the GI doctor this morning. Eli went with us...and was tired by the time we got there. So, he was laying over the chairs, sulking, whining, and absolutely miserable (and he's the one that wanted to go with us!). While debating with Eli, Dr. Rhee came in to talk about the upper GI results. It appears that Isaac's aorta is pushing against his esophagus and bending it. Now...go back to the picture of the heart...the aorta is the big artery at the top of the heart. The aorta should turn to the left, but Master Isaac's aorta turns to the right...and it's abnormally high (like, almost to his collar bone). The crazy aorta is what is causing the esophagus to bend. Now..this DUMBFOUNDED the doctor. (That makes 2 doctors now that are on the "dumbfounded" list). He's uncertain if this bend could be causing some of the choking episodes that Isaac is experiencing. The reflux meds that he's taking is helping tremendously, but he is still having 1 or 2 episodes a day where he chokes and turns blue. So, Dr. Rhee is ordering a swallow test (he drinks more barium and they take more pics as he swallows), we may have an MRI to view the esophagus and heart in relation to each other, and we upped the reflux meds today. It's getting a little ridiculous the silly things they are finding wrong with Isaac.
The rest of our day consisted of my sitting on the couch, the older boys running in circles through the house, and Isaac swinging beside me! I made dinner tonight (yes, that's 2 nights in a row!) and even picked up Joe's drycleaning! Chris made it to scouts to work on his swimming badge. Now...the boys are upstairs brushing their teeth, Isaac is still swinging, Joe is trying to control my remote, and I...well, I am going to feed master Isaac and try to get to bed early!

We had a great Monday!!! My GOOF TROOP is back....and our house is louder than ever!!! I was so excited to greet the boys at the airport...Eli looks like he has grown a foot and Chris looks like his hair has grown a foot!!! Now, it's time to get back into the groove. School work will resume tomorrow morning at our house...and I will try to get the boys out of bed before noon. Thanks a million mom for watching them...I'm sure your cabinets are bare and they have left their mark all over your house and car. (What a handsome group of boys I have...I could have never imagined that I would have been blessed with such special angels.) Joe and I are the luckiest parents!!!

We had an AWESOME Sunday! Joe went to church to represent the family (we can't take Isaac because of germs!). I made Joe lunch and dinner today....that's right...two seperate meals...and he isn't sick yet!!! We have absolutely nothing to complain about. Isaac is eating, the boys are coming home tomorrow, and It's the start of a new month for Joe at work! Joe checked off a few "honey do" projects for me this weekend. One of those was turning Isaac's swing into a swing that could be plugged in the wall instead of using batteries. (I wasn't sure that it could be done..but, I asked, and he took it as a challenge...) All is well in the Roller household. We don't have any appointments scheduled for tomorrow...I just go to the airport to pick up Chris and Eli. On Tuesday, we have a follow-up with the GI doctor to see the results of his upper GI. Wednesday, we have meet with another pediatrician that will do a complete work-up on Isaac to ensure that there are no other specialists that we need to see. The remaining days of the week and FREE!!! We have to get all of Christopher's camping gear ready this week because next week he goes to Catalina Island! Oh..the fun he'll have! Next week is Eli's 5th birthday...he can't wait.

What a wonderful night we had last night! Isaac slept for a 5 hour stretch!!! When he woke up and wanted to eat...I could have stayed up for the rest of the day with him. (I can't remember the last time I slept that long!) We had a lazy day at home today. I love reporting no real major events! I talked to the boys in NC...and I just hope they make it home and leave all the germs of our sick nieces and nephews there!!! (Poor Olivia, Maggie Moo, Carter, and Lauren are all sick...Eli knows to wash his hands often...and to run from the babies!) ha ha ha...I gave him that advice! Enjoy the silly pictures...we had nothing else to do with our time today.

It's the first day of JUNE!!! I can't believe how hot it was today...even if I could take Isaac out, I wouldn't have gone anywhere today! Happy Birthday to Carrie and Ed!!!
Isaac and I had a regular day. No real problems to speak of. Negotiations are still underway...as he will not adhere to the sleep schedule that I have provided for him. Mandy made it to mom's house...and the boys have already changed their flights with Mandy to fly back on Monday instead of Saturday!!! (I can't wait to see them!). I need to just tell you one cute thing about Isaac (so that I remember to tell him when he's older)... When I need to change his diaper (just a wet one), he screams and screams! But, if it's a poop diaper, that little guy will just lay there and smile! (go figure!?) I know that wasn't anything that you needed to know to get through the day...but, just a little insight into the World of Isaac! We hope you all have a great weekend! (and I hope that Joe and I have a good weeked!)
