I know it's Friday...but, let me tell you how our Thursday went!

First, we started our morning off with the fact that Isaac didn't sleep AT ALL!  Joe swapped with me about 2am so that I could get some sleep.  He was just coughing and retching all night.  So....we start our day with NO sleep and a trip to the docs to get our flu shot and RSV shot for Isaac.  He was a champ.  (only crying for a minute!).  Then, we go home and with a little help of Tylenol, he took a good nap.  Mark (speech therapist) and Nicole (developmental specialist) came over about 3:00.  Mark got Isaac to eat some cream of chicken soup!  (not much...but, every little bite counts!).  Nicole showed me new ways to help him learn to sit up better.  (Yes...Isaac will be 9 months old next week..and he still doesn't sit up on his own...he still has a bobble head at times!)  Isaac decides when his sessions are over...and he started crying...so, we made appointments to see Mark again in two weeks.
Isaac has been coughing a little more frequently and his breathing sounds junky at times....so, I wanted to be safe...so, we went to see the pediatrician at 4:50.  He said the lungs sounded good, he could still just have a virus.  So, I'm just giving breathing treatments every 4 hours (as he needs them), squirting saline drops up his little nose, keeping water in the humidifier, and keeping him on his regular meds and feeding schedule.
Now...we're still checking his glucose levels.  Last night 3 hours after a feed, it was high again...184!  YIKES!  (normal, should be 40-100)  So...we had to increase the amount of corn starch in his milk...he now gets 1 teaspoon for every ounce!  (that's some THICK milk!)  Last night, his last feed was at 11:00 and he slept until 6am (my Christmas miracle!).  Well, I checked his levels when he woke up (8 hours after he ate last) and his levels were 101.  URRhhhh!   After this last feed, I checked it thirty minutes after it finished and it was 139...which was better (Dr. Baron said that it should stay under 140 right after you eat).  So, I've got to remember to check the levels throughout the day and report these numbers to the docs next week.  Maybe these high levels are causing the retching.
AND...we had visitors last night.  Holly brought over some peanut butter treats (my favorite)!  Lilly brought over some delicious bread...and we have a secret santa leaving treats on our door each night.   WHAT FUN!!!

Really....all things considered...Isaac is doing great...and so are we.  (Well, we're all a little snotty right now...trying  to keep it away from Isaac...but, we're great)!!!  Joe's taking the boys to church on Sunday and is excited to be able to sing with the choir...I'm trying to tell him to just sing on the strip in one of the shows...he doesn't listen to me though.

And one more thing...I'm sending Crabby Old Man a BIG hug!  Thanks for always keeping us in your prayers and following our little Isaac and our crazy family! Everyone has made us feel so loved this year....we couldn't have made it this far without all of your help and support!

I too want to thank crabby old man.
I have gone to his blog a couple of times, and he almost always mentions little Isaac. Isaac needs all the love, support, and prayers he can get.

AS JESUS TOLD HIS DISCILPES IN MATTHEW : 19 :13-14.
13 :THEN WERE THERE BROUGHT UNTO HIM LITTLE CHILDREN,THAT HE SHOULD PUT HIS HANDS ON THEM,AND PRAY: AND THE DISCIPLES REBUKED THEM.

14 BUT JESUS SAID, SUFFER THE LITTLE CHILDREN, AND FORBID THEM NOT,TO COME UNTO ME; FOR SUCH IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

Yuck, having sickness in the house is NOT FUN. I hope you all can get rid of that soon. I can definitely relate to the constant neb treatments, vaporizer, saline drops, etc...

Joe, you SHOULD go sing on the Strip! I hear the men at the Excalibur are hiring.
