Eli thought that Isaac was a little "Cheeky" today...
so, he put a Thomas sticker on his forehead!
He's still wearing the sticker, eating a tube of water.
yummy tube...crazy eyes...still "Cheeky"
Look at those numbers....85??!?!?!

So...you want to know how our day has been?? I think the pictures speak for themselves!
Let's just take the day in order...shall we??

First, ELI...my superstar reader, read another book at school. We made a deal with him...for every FIVE books that he reads in class, he gets a Star Wars character. So, today was book FOUR....we're SO proud of him!!!
Then, Eli stayed home with dad while I take Isaac to see Dr. Kogut (the ped surgeon that did the g-tube surgery). His site looks great. But, guess what he did the ENTIRE time we were in there...THREW UP...MULTIPLE TIMES! He hasn't thrown up in a few weeks....but, I'm glad that she was able to see it. She's the one that did the fundo, and he shouldn't be able to throw up...so, I know she thinks I'm crazy when I tell her that he's been doing it for months! (I'm not crazy...at least in this area!) And that mucus came out from around his g-tube site (gross again)... She said it could be a post nasal drip, causing him to gag and then throw up...could be a hernia. If he starts it up again...we'll do ANOTHER upper GI...(whatever...we've had 3...I don't think they know what they're looking for sometimes!)
So, we go home....he sleeps in the car (which is good). Now Nicole comes over (dev specialist). Mark (feeding) was sick...but, that's good because he won't take anything by mouth when he has these throwing up spells. Nicole was able to play with his feet and get him to put a little (and I mean little) pressure on him feet. He will not even THINK about trying to stand up! He's funny!
Now...it's time for Chris to come home. REPORT CARD DAY!!! He got all A's and B's...and that in itself is a MIRACLE!!! We promised him chinese buffet if he did it...and boy did he! We load up (Isaac too) and eat over-priced chinese food. Then, Joe stops them by Gamestop to get Chris the video game he's been saving up for (Isaac and I stay in the car). They come out with a game for Chris and a game for Eli....(who's spoiled??).
I'm home now...Isaac is watching Yo Gabba Gabba and I decide to check his sats (hence, the picture). He's staying in the mid-upper 80's. It's been like that for about an hour. So, I just laid him down and it's going back up to 90-92. He doesn't appear to be sick...ok..I lied. He just sneezed. Maybe I'll just hook up the O2...keep sucking his nose (just in case a buggie appears), maybe throw in a little Tylenoyl....
My poor little butterball....
Joe just told me that there wasn't enough oxygen in this house because I'm talking too much...isn't he just the comic.
***OK...I couldn't leave you without your funny story for the day. Joe signed up to give blood at Eli's school this afternoon (so that Eli could get a stuffed animal). So, Joe goes in...gets his finger pricked, starts with the interviewing process....and here we GO! They ask if he's been out of the country in the last 5 years. Yes...we've been to the caribbean, Honduras, Mexico (Oh...those were the gold ole' days!). Then, they ask if he's been to Europe in the past 20 years. Well, yes...he lived in Germany during high school years. So...did you know that if you've been in Germany (from 1980-1999) and stayed there for over 6 months at any given time....you can't give blood because of Mad Cow Disease!!! So....Joe couldn't give blood...He could be a carrier of Mad COW!!! How funny is that!!! Oh....the fun I'll have with that one!!!

***one more thing...Isaac's snoozing (we didn't watch American Idol last night--we recorded it and it's recording now...I know you're wondering), but, now his sats are 93-94....he's just going to make me watch this stinking monitor all night long!!!

ouch on the sats. Reminds me of when our Kanani was a baby. She was super low tone, and did not sit until she was a year old... anyway, whenever she was in an upright position, her lil body would scrunch down and make it harder to breathe...

I'm so glad the doc was able to see his wretching spells... hopefully that will help them figure stuff out. Good luck on keeping your fam healthy, especially from that mad cow. I heard that's a doozy! ha ha ha. Thanks for the laughs.

Hey Girl...I have missed so much in a few days.

First of all the car incident...priceless! Like you guys really need another expense on top of the medical bills. But things happen and we just have to deal, right?!

I love the pictures of Isaac. Did you schedule the MRI yet?

Oh and whats up with these sats? He must be feeling Arianna getting the attention again. Lil' stinker. I know what you mean about watching those monitors. I could just throw them out the window sometimes. Its amazing cause I thought I would have Arianna plugged into the pulse ox all day when we got home but I only check her maybe 2-3 times awake but keep her plugged in at naps and throughout the night.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, I wanted to ask you how you keep the cannula on Isaac if its for a long time. I saw the cute heart pieces of tape but wasn't sure if thats how you always do it. Arianna has a major reaction to tape and I tried to redo it the way the hospital did with the exuderm satin wound dressing and tagaderm. But I feel like this is alot on her face and she still seems red around the edges. If I don't tape it down it keeps falling off her face though...oh stupid cannula. Just thought I would ask an experienced mother in this area.

Oh sorry for the delay in my update. I always think of the people that are probably waiting to hear how she is doing and feel bad when I don't update earlier in the day.

Take Care!

Did Eli get the stuffed animal even though they wouldn't take Joe's blood?

I've been asking you to check his oxygen. I think that's why he looks tired so much of the time.
We might need to find him a little recliner so he can sit back and prop his feet up.

I am so so proud of Chris. Anyone that knows Chris knows that this is a miracle. To go from home schooling, to skipping a grade, to making A's and B's even with all the stresses at home......he is my Super Star!!

And of course I must give most of the credit to his mom. I didn't much like the home schooling ordeal, I didn't like the "No video games during the week" rule,
but I have to admit in the end it all worked out. Good job Kat!

Isaac is keeping his mama on her toes! Little stinker. What's up with the sats? Hopefully you weren't up all night worrying about them. I'm glad Elijah was never sent home with a monitor because I know that's what I would have done constantly.

How crazy that he threw up after not doing it for weeks. At least the dr got to see it, though.

One of these days we'll get you all figured out, Isaac!

Oh, the Mad Cow story is great humor. I enjoyed that. And also, Elijah is right with Isaac on the NO LEG USAGE. He will not bear hardly ANY weight on his legs, either. Kinda frustrating, huh?

That whole retching thing is so crazy, no one listened to me for a year and a half... it wasn't until one of our PICU nurses came over and SAW it w/ her own two eyes and said something to Baron that anyone believed us... I know the frustration...

Did they ever do an Endoscopy??

The told me too it could be post nasal drip causing them to gag too...

His he still on Baclofen?

Wow, I didn't know that about Mad Cow.. wow...

Did you talk to the surgeon about the 17 thousand dollar bill??

I guess that I won't be able to give blood at our blood drive next week! We lived in London for 6 months. And, I have been out of the country. Oh man!

Glad that you are having a "normal" day in the Roller household!!

Love, Jennifer
